About Event

Make friends who care about stuff at Soapbox Portland, the city's most fun community space for climate action!

We're having a party for people who care about the planet. Same time, same place, every week. You're invited.

Small businesses are struggling across the country to stay open with behemoth companies underpricing them to gain market share. With speedy delivery, there's a cost for the local economy and the environment.

Alex Gamboa Grand from Way of Being is here to tell us about it! She'll educate us on what it's like to be a local business owner, the sort of decisions she makes when building her brand, and how consumers can play a part in strengthening our local economy here in Portland. You'll leave this event with an understanding of what you can do in the short- and long-term (and next week at our ACT night, you can put this into practice)!

Our plan

  • 5-6PM: Chomp & chat. Grab a plant-based meal (dinner is included) and a new friend

  • 6-7PM: Q&A and discussion co-hosted with Alex Gamboa Grand; questions provided by YOU! This will be educational, interactive, and fun.

  • 7-8PM: Peer learning & more mingling
